Alberto Makes Landfall

Tuesday, June 13, 2006

While Tropical Storm Alberto never made hurricane classifications, officials are not taking any chances. There is still concern about how it will effect the area with floods and tornados. Tropical Storm Alberto had winds of about 60 mph in Tampa Florida, and has caused some minor damage to the land.

While Tropical Storm Alberto's damage has been minor, such as uprooted trees, limited power outages, and other messes to clean up. It may have been a little overprotective to have an evacuation of such a minor storm. However, I would say it's better to be safe than sorry when dealing with hurricanes.

Many people in Florida stocked up on supplies to weather out this storm. Luckily for them there will probably be no to little disruption of services that they will face. The 2006 Atlantic hurricane season is just beginning.
