Hurricane Wilma Supply Trouble
Wednesday, October 26, 2005
Supplies after Hurricane Wilma have been a bit of a problem. Residents in North Miami had to wait for up to 12 hours for supplies after Hurricane Wilma. One of the places where they are distributing supplies is the Orange Bowl Stadium in North Miami.
The secretary of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff, is scheduled to visit and see Hurricane Wilma's damage today. The Department of Homeland Security is in charge of FEMA which responds to hurricanes like Hurricane Wilma.
In Hollywood Florida, supplies are also a problem. There was an announcement that supplies would arrive for the relief effort at noon, and then they did not arrive until 3 hours later, making the supplies effort take longer than 7 hours.
In Naples FEMA did not come to distribute water when they said they were going to come. More on the supply issues with Hurricane Wilma and FEMA will come later.
