New Orleans Fires 45
Saturday, October 29, 2005
New Orleans fires 45 officers that left before or after Hurricane Katrina and have not been seen since. They have left either before or 10-15 days after Hurricane Katrina made landfall. Over 240 officers have not been accounted for from the police force of New Orleans.
New Orleans fired the 45 members who have not been seen since. 15 officers also resigned after being placed on investigation for abandonment after Hurricane Katrina. These are final firings as there are very stiff regulations about leaving the force for more than 15 days without notice.
